The central Contra Costa County areas of Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda are collectively known as Lamorinda. With a cluster of restaurants and generally high-end shops in its downtown, Lafayette is considered the retail hub of the region. Orinda is a family-oriented community with tree-studded hillsides and also home to the Orinda Theatre Square. Moraga is a valley, surrounded by rolling hills and home to Saint Mary’s College of California.

You'll love Lamorinda

The City of Lafayette is a great mix of tree-filled neighborhoods and a charming and bustling downtown with lots of shops and restaurants. Walking trails and bike paths can be easily accessed from most neighborhoods, and the beautiful Lafayette Reservoir offers a retreat for walking, hiking, fishing and picnicking. Located on Highway 24, Lafayette has its own BART station providing a quick 25-minute train ride into San Francisco.

Lafayette is one of the most sophisticated, family-friendly towns in Lamorinda: homes on big lots, amazing schools, and chic boutiques and restaurants.

The schools are consistently ranked among the best in California and swim clubs and other sports activities abound. The shopping district has everything you need, including a beautiful, old-fashioned theater that shows first-run movies. Located right off Highway 24, Orinda has its own BART stop, yet in just a few minutes drive, you can be hiking or biking in some of the most beautiful natural settings imaginable: Tilden Park, San Pablo Reservoir, Briones Open Space and the Lafayette Reservoir.

Orinda is the hidden gem of the East Bay: friendly neighborhoods, private retreats, top-rated schools and a quaint shopping district.
